“Encounter n.2”
22 x15 inches watercolour (unframed)
Painting on location the big trees and colourful creatures of Corcovado Park and the surrounding nature reserves on the Osa Peninsula. The massive trees provide a sense of calm amidst the complexity of bio diversity that link the ground to the the sky. I look for shapes that create line and movements throughout the hierarchy of focal points in the composition. During a sustained session (sometime returning the next day ) we would have several wildlife sighting from scarlet macaws , toucans, a tapair and several types of monkeys. Butterflies would often drop down on the paper to sample a wet layer of paint.
