Online watercolour workshop with David McEown on Zoom

Inspired by polar bears, walrus and other arctic wildlife encounters we will explore essential watercolour techniques and landscape lessons to capture the light, colour and behaviour of animals in their environment.
4 instructional sessions, 3 hours

- An additional 45 minute short introduction and Q/A session will be held Tuesday January 19th, 1 pm ET, (optional)
- Final Critique of submitted paintings (optional), Thursday February 18, 1pm ET (90 minutes)
Level - intermediate to advanced, also beginner with some experience in painting and drawing. (bonus access to “essential watercolour basics video” is included to enhance skills.)
- Small Class size of up to 18, allows for time to share and see participants paintings. (but never pressure to show artwork!) Reference material will be provided but one can certainly choose to use their own.
- Live entertaining split screen demonstrations plus video treats from David’s arctic experience and wildlife encounters. Various camera views from demonstration capture details we find in the texture and surfaces found in wildlife.
- Access to a Video summary posted online after each lesson.
- Reviews of participants paintings by highlighter using photoshop tools from David’s Tablet.
An internet connection, microphone and camera-enabled computer or smartphone is required. This class will be delivered via the video conferencing app ZOOM which is free to download (you do not require a ZOOM account to participate). A link to access the class will be sent to you in advance.
